MY SOLO TRAINING STORY

I didn't want to spend a lot of time doing Parkour solo, but when my training partner quit Parkour shortly after he got with his first girlfriend I wasn't really left with a choice.

Disgruntled I started going out solo and making close friends with the rails and walls in my neighbourhood.

What seemed like a curse at first, would turn into a blessing.

I soon found that my solo training was more structured, meditative and introspective.Ā

IĀ became more able to focus on the details and nuance of all my moves and I would spend time on tricks that seemed silly to pursue in a group training session.

Yes, training was less HYPED and exciting, which meant I didn't push myself as hard in most sessions. But with the lower intensity I actually started moving in amore healthy and sustainable way.

Long story short. After a few months I looked back and realized I had made some crazy progress training mostly by myself.

And being able to sit in peace with myself added a whole other mental aspect to my training. The feeling that you can just go out and enjoy yourself, become stronger and ground yourself with some "movement meditation" is something I don't want to miss anymore. True freedom? :)

It might take some time to get used to, but these days I will often go out by myself even with the option to train in a group. Especially with the tight schedule of having a family.

I recommend to GIVE IT A GO! and don't be disappointed, if it takes some time to get cozy.

Ā Keep Moving,
Jason
